Abstract

The best occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems are “standards-based,” i.e., they are grounded solely in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and other official statutory requirements. They employ standards based on the law and, consequently, provide significant liability protection.

Author Biography

David A. Wise, Department of Veterans Affairs

David A. Wise holds an MS in OSH/EM from Columbia Southern University and an undergraduate degree in health care management from the Community College of the Air Force. David is employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a CDL motor vehicle operator and bus driver, taking veterans to various morale, welfare and recreational activities, as well as medical appointments. He is also a chaplain’s assistant with the U.S.A.F. Reserves. David Wise is the owner and developer of The Relational EHS™ Management System, a powerful, comprehensive relational database management system used by general industries to manage their environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance requirements. David shares his application with companies as free shareware.
